Another batch of caramelized almonds for a gift.
In between gift making, Christmas cleaning and other duties of the season, I decided to bake some Amish cinnamon rolls.
With Elaine’s recipe from Shipshewana in hand, I made the dough, but even if the taste was right, the looks was a little more rustic from my hands than from hers.
I need to adjust the recipe a little more to fit the Norwegian flour – maybe 1/2 cup more?
Covered with homemade Butterscotch frosting, it was not so easy to tell the visual difference though, and the guests did not mind at all when I served these for dessert after a hearty dinner of pork roast, the traditional Norwegian Sunday dinner way.
Sometimes I wonder about Miss Cat…..
Why place herself on top of a pile of clutter including at least 1 pincushion, when there is a quilt available just 3 inches away?
Just asking……..
Hanne
Well there is a far greater chance that you will want something that's in the pile of clutter than you will a single quilt, and it is a cat's duty to get in the way as much as possible, even if that involves making sacrifices like sitting on pincushions :)
