Tour de Fibre - Day 22 - the end

P1060759

All good things comes to an end, as have these lovely days at May Britt's.
Her sewing room is tidy again, and I am back in my quilt corner.
I already miss the chatter, the laughter and the companionship!
Thanks for lovely days and lovely company!

The last thing I did in May Britt's sewing room was to prep 5 more applique pieces, ready to be appliqued down in the early morning tomorrow.

My drive home in the late afternoon was so wet - it was raining all the way and it was like the daylight was already fading, around 6 pm……..

It is nice to think about that we are going to enjoy some sun later in August, far far from here :-)

P1060758Look what a lovely surprise May Britt made today - sun tan lotion bags, one for me and one for her! It will brighten my dresser top until it is time to fill it :-)
Thank you very much May Britt :-)

It is a very special day here in Norway today -
22. July  - a year since the terrible massacre in Oslo and at Utøya.
We are all lighting candles in memory of all the victims and their loved ones.

It has been a memory concert outdoors in Oslo today, and it has been sent on TV as well.
Even Bruce Springsteen was there.

We learned this evening that my dear brother in law will celebrate his birthday tomorrow, and I must admit the place mats has been neglected.

Now I have ironed the backing and I have a busy day before me tomorrow then - many meters of binding to do. The machine quilting should be fairly quick to do.

The Tour de France and The Tour de Fibre has come to an end today.
Strange, isn't it, how fast 3 weeks can pass when you are having fun ?

It has been good fun to do the Tour de Fibre this year too, and I am aiming at doing it again next year, and hopefully many years after that again :-)

I hope you have enjoyed the journey too!
Maybe it has inspired you to join in and do some stages with us :-)

  1. Thank you Hanne for the Tour de fibre. It has been great inspiration to stitch each and every day. Such a long time since I have stitched so much. The three weeks really did go by so fast. I really enjoyed peaking in on everything that you and May Britt made. Take care and have a lovely holiday!

  7. It was great fun riding along on your Tour de Fibre. I did make good progress on a quilt I started at the November Dear Jane Retreat. It is for my granddaughter. Deep love sent your way for the families affected by last year's shooting. There was one here in Colorado a few days ago. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could transform hate and violence into love and peace.
Love to you Dearest Hanne. And lovely May.

  8. Thank you so much Hanne. I pushed myself to finish the 7 Fairy stitches in time, and also managed to finish Fox and Friends, the Willow tree sculpture, and bond all 16 blocks for Welcome to the North Pole. I lost 10 days to wet weather so I think that was a very good achievement. Thank you so much for the encouragement. I would like to join in next year.

Good luck finishing your mats. The flower bags are so sweet. Well done with your SC progress. I'm sure you will have it done in no time. I bonded all the border hearts and put them in a little bag in my rucksack so I could work on them wherever I was. It made them get done so quickly.

  9. Du må jo være helt utladet du nå, etter tre uker intens sying...
Du får ta noen hviledager etter ferdigstillelsen av bursdagsgavene, og lade opp til OL...for det blir vel litt TV titting da også...

    klem
