Owls in the moss

P1030461Meet the owls in the moss!
Owls in the moss is an Norwegian expression for something peculiar and strange, maybe even a bit fishy, going on, but these little guys are just in the moss for our fun and for your eye pleasure ;-)

P1030464May Britt's cat really thought there was something fishy going on, and he even bit one of the owls to be sure if it was eatable or not……..

P1030468The owls took cover around these tree stump :-)

How these owls came to life?
After attending May Britt's quilt guild meeting on Thursday, Laila let us bring her owl home - the bigger light purple owl to the right in the photo above.

We did not have a pattern, but as both May Britt and I have done crochet before, we played it by ear, and you can see it was successful :-)
As we did not have cotton crochet yarn, DMC embroidery floss did the trick.

P1030457As you see we were well stocked with embroidery floss scraps after May Britt's late mother.

P1060526Laila's owl is supervising the progress!

My 2 owls (so far)!
For more owls, visit May Britt :-)

He respects Owl, because you can't help respecting anybody who can spell TUESDAY, even if he doesn't spell it right.
