More of this & that

P1040185

Yes, it hurts (quite a lot), but now it is done - an arthrodesis of the big toe. The inner joint is now removed and fixated.
Isn't the arrow pretty cool ?
It is drawn by the surgeon prior to the surgery yesterday. It is part of the pre op routine to identify the right body part.
I was so close to have surgery performed on the wrong hip many years ago, so I do like the arrow very much.

As I am not able to jump on crutches I will spend a lot of the next 6+ weeks here in my sewing corner, in my wheel chair.
A good place to be, after all :-)

P1040179Some stitchery is going on,

P1040190as well as some hexagons and some knitting for preemies, for Amandaprosjektet, which is providing hospitals with socks, hats, mittens and blankets for preemies.
The hexagons have 1.25" sides, so you see, the hat and the socks are not big.

  5. Great excuse to spend your time stitching! Hope it's not too painful. Those premmie things are so weenie, they should give them lots of warmth.
What is that quilt you're working on? I love the fabric you have used.

  7. Can you imagine how horrible this would be if you didn't sew or knit or do some kind of craft? Heal fast!!

  9. Hanne, I feel your pain my friend. I am two months post op for a subtalar arthrodesis (ankle area) and am now clunking around in a walking boot. It's not very fashionable and could do with some embellishing but it does allow me to remove it for showering and sleeping.
    Get well soon

I have followed your blog for quite some time now. I do not blog however.
I hope the surgery will give you a painfree existence as soon as all is healed. :O)
Take care and keep on stitching!

Håper smertene går fort over og at du orker å sy litt. Da har du i alle fall noe å gjøre på, når du må sitte i ro. Riktig god helg! Hilsen Astri i Bergen
