May finishes + being on the mend

Thanks for all the well wishes!
Yesterday the pneumonia cough took a turn to the better and I am now officially on the mend :-)
It has been a long 4 weeks indeed!

P1060017

It is counting OPAM (one project a month) time again, and I can count 3 finishes.

A pair of pink girly lace socks knitted by yours truly for yours truly , who has not knitted since December 2006.

* I can promise you this will NOT turn into a knitting blog ;-)
* I can promise you I will NOT build a yarn stash!!
*  I can promise you I will keep to sock knitting when the urge hits me - fast and easy to finish, and not wearing my shoulders out! And, not to forget - I do neither want nor need knitting Ufos !

P1060018

This weekend I attended (part time) a class by AnnaKa, a well known Norwegian quilt designer.
My cough prevented me from participating full time, but I enjoyed the time I was there, and it was a good source of Vitamin Q. Thanks Ann -  it was a great weekend!

I made this laundry travel bag for myself, and a new matching toiletry purse.

 P1060019

I was using my own toiletry purse pattern, adding Ann's inspiration in the decor.

I'll be back with more from the class soon!

Still on the sick list

still sick

and still doing stitchery :-)

muffins

All these antibiotics are giving me shaky hands, so I keep away from the cutting knife, just to be on the safe side, both fabric wise and body wise.
I do NEED all my fingers intact! :-)

I got a new antibiotic today, and I hope it will do the trick!
I do wish that all this couching would have given me tight abdomen and chest muscles, not only tired muscles - no such luck ;-)

I am very grateful for antibiotics!
Antibiotics has saved so many lives and turned lethal sickness, like pneumonia, to something not so dangerous!

I have been better

P1050945

- but things could also be worse ;-)
4 more days on antibiotics, and I am hope this pneumonia is gone!

Warm drinks, antibiotics, couch syrup, book on CD and stitchery - life is not so bad after all!

These lovely stitcheries have followed me this winter and spring, as my friend Bente and I have done them as a Block of  the month, starting in January.

Bente has finished the blocks on schedule - I am more jumping around, enjoying the stitching and postponing the block making.

P1050946

This quilt has 9 blocks, and here you see # 1 and #5 finished, finished today :-)
I am working from my fabric collection mostly, but had to buy a piece of the linen like fabric with the smallest roses.

I hope to be in better shape tomorrow - I have a lot of  things on my to do list!

Rebecca and her father outside the shop. The beautiful sign is his work.

I also had the pleasure of attending Rebecca's speech on Amish quilts, without camera in hand.
I learned a lot about Amish quilts, and am eager to learn more :-)

P1050651
We rested in the gazebo outside Yoder's Department Store (in the background). It was a lovely walk from town and back to the hotel. It is good to stretch the old hind legs every now and then.

From the upstairs retreat room we had on Wednesday afternoon and night, before the big retreat room was ready for us on Thursday.

I had brought my stars to work on through the retreat.
Note the lovely pin cushions - the cute little chicken I got from Karan and the gorgeous salt cellar pin cushion Cindy has made for me.

Cindy also brought me this beautiful book. I know Judy L. from blogland, and Cindy is her friend in real life.

A lovely day were had by all

P1050637

Back to the Shipshewana week :-)
We had an out in the country trip planned for Wednesday, before the Dear Jane retreat started.
The knitters were ready to have their bags filled :-)

P1050634
Vicky and I also enjoyed the shop and the colours from 2 comfy chairs.
P1050636
LuAnn, Pam, Val and Vicky, ready to drive on.

P1050640
We visited a lovely little quilt shop and I did buy some small pieces, but the shop was heavily scented with air freshener, so I could not spend time taking photos.

P1050638
From a distance I saw this gorgeous roof, with a mosaic cow, to match the cows on the ground.
You can click on the photo to enlarge it if you need!
