A perfect day for sewing

It is cold outdoors, and quite wet as well, so it is perfect for sewing corner activities.
My Leanne's House block # 2 is done and I am eager to prepare another one.
Here you see the 2 first blocks together.

I started out with enough batting for the outside borders on my 2 blocks as well, but as I am carrying my blocks around the batting get more wear than I like and I have cut the extra off.

Our beloved grandcat did not like the heavy showers much yesterday either, and stayed indoors more than usual.
A good next-to-the-sewing-machine, laying-on-the-best-fabrics cuddle were had as well - a joy for both cat and quilter :-)

Here is my friend Bjørg's first Leanne's House block joined, and as you see she is making it ready for stitchery.
The deep reds and the browns are lovely together and bring my thoughts to cherries and chocolate.

It is fun seeing the colors that both you and your friend chose. They are different, but both are lovely.

  8. This is such a wonderful pattern, and you are bringing it to life with skill and beauty. I can just imagine the joy you feel as you wok on this.

I've never done stitchery through batting. I presume you use a very thin cotton batting, right? I can't imagine what it would be like to do stitchery through batting - I guess I'm going to have to try it. I wonder just what is the reasoning behind doing it this way?

  9. Oh, how beautiful! I'm so scared to start this project. I need to read through the instructions carefully to figure out the markings, etc. I'm watching yours closely! And loving every beautiful stitch you put in it!

  18. At first glance I thought that was a print fabric but you have done all that lovely stitching in the white spaces---wow, Hanne! This is going to be a lovely quilt.

And you have to know how much I adore Lillerusk the grandcat's picture. I could not help but smile looking at her.
