A hot day

Today we have had over 30 degrees C, and that is Boiling Hot when we have no fans or ACs. All doors and windows are open.
Temperatures like these are rare here, but I must admit I enjoy the heat anyway.

I have spent the day in the shade, mostly with a good book. Even the sewing needle was all sticky.

I have finished piecing the Leanne's House BOM # 1 today.
I will save the kit fabrics for a special gift that is not due for a couple of years, and am piecing this quilt from the lovely Japanese fabrics I bought on Monday + some I am adding from my own collection.
You might see a couple of CW repros too, if you look closely, as well as some other non Japanese ones.

I will stitch this quilt through Quilters Dream Request cotton batting. Usually I use muslin behind my stitcheries, but now I am ready to do the quilt as you go method.

I will watch some TV with DD1 and start stitching now - can you see my smile - I am looking forward to do this :-)

My plan is to start piecing block # 2 tomorrow so I do a little of both and can bring stitchery around this summer.

I have pieced block #8 this evening and started cutting for the last one now. Then I have
4 1/2 blocks ready to be stitched.

  4. I love Leanne's work and your fabric choices are great. Do the stitchery blocks come marked with the designs?
