My first, last and only knitting post
Life hit sideways a couple of days ago, and all tote sewing has been put on hold.
I needed a couple of R&R days and am bouncing back again.
In the mean time I have tried some knitting and again I found my arms and neck still do not like knitting.
I have not knitted in 10+ years, but seeing all the beautiful yarn and knitting around on the blogs has inspired me too.
I used to knit a lot back then - sweaters in complicated patterns and dozens pairs of socks.
A pair of socks in one of the new variegated threads felt like something I could enjoy.
Half a sock knitted and I met the old arm pain, even if I only knitted a little at a time, and these socks took most of a week to finish.
I decided to not give up - I did not need a knitting Ufo as well, so I kept at it until sock # 2 was done.
These socks are easy. I know how to turn a heel, so I decided to try one of those tube socks, with no heel.
First the ordinary rib, 2 knit, 2 purl, until desired length, then the 2 knit, 2 purl was skewed by 1 every 4th round until decired length.
They fit snuggly as you see.
DD2 likes these socks very much so she got them to use and enjoy.
Now I am putting away the knitting needles for good, with no regrets whatsoever.
Back to what I love and enjoy the most - quilting and stitchery :-)
I have 1 old Ufo to take care of this winter + a handful of other lovely work.
Even talking about quilting and stitchery brings a smile to my face and a twinkle in my eyes.
I will still enjoy looking at lovely knitting all around, but with no desire to join in.
That really is something too !
