Merry Christmas

I am wishing you a wonderful Christmas !
In Norway we celebrate Christmas Eve, 24. December, starting with the Christmas meal at 5 pm.
We had ribs of pork with the traditional side dishes - sauerkraut, red kraut, potatoes and gravy, with fruit salad for dessert, and coffee with Christmas cookies and sweets after.

Today it is the day of what we call First Day Breakfast.
It is like a smorgasbord enjoyed all day, with family. We are going to DH's brother in an hour for the First Day Breakfast.
We are hosting a Breakfast here tomorrow, for my family.

I can not take much part in the eating this year, but I am counting on a better 2007 ! My surgery will be in January-February according to the hospital admittance office.
I am enjoying the getting together and the smells though.

The angel on today's photo arrived here as a gift yesterday. She is so cool - made of mostly enameled metal and a little porcelain. She is 13" tall.

I got very behind on blogging through last week. Some baking and gifts are still in my camera. I also have some of the secret gifts to share with you.

  1. Merry Christmas to you. I like the First Day Breakfast tradition. I would rather celebrate in the morning than late in the day.

  2. Merry Christmas to you Hanne. I pray 2007 is better. I will keep you and the upcoming surgery in my prayers. The angel is very nice. We received a porcelian angel last night from my sons soon to be inlaws. It is really nice to receive such a thoughtful gift.
