Finally finished !

This tote has been slow work, but now it is done!
It has been slow because I have not put much focus into it since the stitchery was done and the fabrics were cut.

It is 14" wide and 12" high. The bottom can be folded out so the height is 15,5".
The handles are long enough to go over my shoulder, but not longer than I can still carry the tote not touching the floor when it is not on my shoulder.
It has two inner pockets - one big with zipper and one smaller and open.

The fabrics are Japanese taupes and I only have fat quarters, so the lining is done in 2 fabrics and the handles are done in 3 fabrics.
I think the lining looks cool, with a horizontal dividing and the zipper for the pocket in the seam.

I am looking forward to use this tote and have moved my thing into it already.

I subscribe to Japanese fabrics from a Norwegian internet shop. I get a packet of 6 fat quarters 6 times a year. I subscribed this spring and so far I am very happy with what I have got.
It is also much more fun to use the fabrics when they are new and fresh and not store them until I am bored with them. I have done that to much in the past.

Now to continue working on my Christmas gifts.
It has worked well to focus on doing one gift at a time. If I meet the wall and do not enjoy the gift making anymore I can buy the rest without being drowned in Ufos. Can be recommended :-)

  2. Oh Hanne, it was well worth all that work - it truly is lovely... how nice that you are keeping it for yourself. I also like to use my new fabrics right away while they are exciting.

    Cheers!

Your bag is a beauty, Hanne ! Well done !

Good tip about the fabric : my stash is overflowing with fabrics I bought impulsively a long time ago... and they are now boring me, mostly because they are from totally different collections... (Isn't that a shame ?)
A few weeks ago, I had proposed to my bee that we organize a "fabric exchange day", but very few ladies were interested.... Too bad...
I guess those poor orphans will have to find a nest in a scrap quilt, some day.

    Hugs & smiles !

  7. This turned out so nicely Hanne! I love using the stitchery for the side. The taupes from Japan are really beautiful aren't they. I like your two fabric handle and your lining - much more interesting that way! Congratulations on getting it done.

  10. your bag is lovely Hanne. I like the fabrics you used and the stitchery. I don't have any of those fabrics. Perhaps i'll have to look for some in the new year.
